I'm Back

Image
Greetings Everyone! I know it has been some time since I posted on my blog. I never tthought the pandemic had an impact on  on me but it did. I had no desire to pick up my laptop and let my words flow. The very thing I had as my mantra was "Letting the words flow until the pen stops". I felt those words would be my last if I inherited  Alzheimer's not that I didn't have the desire anymore.  At the beginning of the pandemic when everything shut down for what was supposed to be two weeks  was two years. I was excited at the beginning of 2020 because I had released a new book and was going to travel to promote it and was looking forward to sharing my words. Instead, I had to look for various ways  to stay in front of the wave. I was doing zoom meetings where I did readings, I did workshops on "How  to Publish a Book", and I still felt missing. Four Seasons of Love didn't meet the expectations. Slowly what I did was start journaling and the words started cre...

Emergency Alert :An Immersive Novel makes it debut

Image
Excerpt Ranger Vance Tulley developed a dangerous habit of silencing radio communication during night shift rotations at the Zone 3 Police Department. The voices of local dispatchers brimmed with a sense of urgency that he found terribly distressing, particularly during the solicitation of crime scene personnel. While his peers rushed to assist with crowd control and evidence tagging, Tulley managed to lay claim to an obscure area tucked behind a local fast-food restaurant.  Overgrown greenery and low hanging tree branches masked the sizable truck as smoke billowed from its dual exhaust tailpipes. The rookie surmised that if he was relegated to earning half the salary of traditional law enforcement officers, then he would contribute half the work. Police Chief Windmore had underestimated the tried-and-true philosophy that criminal cases transitioned from red to black by way of green cash.  An all-points bulletin shot across the airwaves, jarring Tulley from his extended slumbe...

10 Things you may not know about me

Image
10 Things you may not know about me  I love to sing . Since I was a child until  a young adult I was always in the church choir. I inherited the love of music from my father who had a beautiful baritone voice. Now I sing in my car while driving. I can burn in the kitchen aka I can cook. My parents had me later in life . Majority of my siblings were out of the house when I was growing up so I was my parent's shadow. Both loved to cook and I would watch them both. My mother cooked all the meals for the house since she was self employed and ran a boarding home . My father would bake or cook in the evening when he had a taste for something. I realize that is where I get it from. At ten o'clock at night I decide to bake a banana bread because I have a taste for something sweet . I will have a slice and bring the rest to work. My favorite dishes to make is lasagna, macaroni and cheese and St. Louis barbecue ribs.  Travel bug- traveling domestic or international is my gu...

Top 7 myths about being a author

Image
New Flash! There are myths floating around about being an author. Authors are millionaires - majority of authors write because they have a passion of letting their words out. It's not that they are writing to be the next millionaire. On average most authors make fewer than 10,000.00. Self published authors don't get advances to write their books but have to pay upfront for a contract to have books printed on demand. Lights, Camera, Action! - There are millions of books published annually and not all books are made into movies. I can name Fifty Shades of Grey, Pet Cemetery, Waiting to Exhale, and The Help to name a few that were selected to be edited and written  into movies. Set your expectations to be realistic. Who Needs to Edit? - The myth that you don't need to have your work proof read, edited, and edited again before it goes to print. Why? You can't catch everything and its good if you ha...
