Virtual Book Tour with Author Tracee Lydia Garner

Image
Welcome Author Tracee Lydia Garner Have you always wanted to be an author?   I had no idea stories were in me at all. The start of my journey starts with depression, flunking out of school, specifically community college math for liberal arts and an awful English teacher I did not like at all. In my college days, I just wasn't convinced I was going to make it and I remember one late night surfing on the computer, feeling down and I asked God for "something else". I wasn’t very specific but I was crying and just calling out to him to help me improve my grades or give me a good job without a degree. He delivered as He always does. I saw a contest hosted by a large publishing house and my dramatic crying and tears actually dried up as I tried to read the details about entering it. I would enter and later win the grand prize and that launched my writing career and changed my life. Everything in life improved, my grades, my outlook and I had a true passion...

Guest Blogger Spotlight LaShaunda C.Hoffman on Promotion Fear

Image
Thanks for following the Don’t ROCK Fear Blog Tour.   I would like to thank Patricia for letting me share with you today. Today’s Promotion Fear – My Books Aren’t Selling Like Hers This fear will stop you in your tracks quickly.   You haven’t made the best seller’s list like another author.   She’s on Facebook talking about all her new readers.   She’s signing at all the hottest conferences. You want to crawl in a hole and never come out.   Don’t do it. You are not her and your book isn’t hers either.   Each writer has their own path.   If you stay worried about someone else’s path, you will miss out all the good things happening on your own path. No your book might not have made the best selling list, but that doesn’t mean it can’t.   You might have to work a little harder with your promotion. You don’t have a mailing list of 5000 readers.   That’s ok your 100 is a great start and will grow as more readers...

Clock is Winding Down

The Clock Is Winding Down As I age I think more about death                  Don't ask me why but I take the time to reflect on life especially around my birthday Questions I ponder: Have I done everything on my bucket list? Is there goals that I can scratch off my list that I have accomplished? Did I say I love you to those I care about? Has my work been all in vain? Reading the obituaries that flash across social media death doesn't come to those who are old. There are those who leave here because of natural causes of death, accidents, and illnesses. Infants, children men and women are leaving their earthly home everyday. Nothing is promised.  I know that my parents have been gone for a period of time but I still grieve them The question that I ask  is who will shed a tear for me? As I take my annual physical examination the doctor explained to me that my body is...

You're Not Welcomed

Image
Wave of emotions Flood my being I can only imagine The door being closed in my face I have no place to go Ripped from my family's grasps No warning Waiting on the other side is my freedom You're not welcomed here is what the sign reads A melting pot? The land of the free? Innocent not doing anything wrong You have helped make America great Your only sin is what you believe in It could have been me The feeling of traveling abroad and coming home To be turned away Or you are coming to see a sick loved one I am sorry but you're not welcomed I watched as the elderly man wept His tears ran down his cheek and he said I am a good person Why? We stand with him in solidarity and can't explain The only thing we can all do now is pray Pray for the families separated Pray for peace Pray for they know not what they do!!! Blessings, Patricia A. Back in the saddle again

Welcome back !!! It's a new year and people are making promises to do things differently Going to the gym, eating healthier and turning over a new leaf Also what we have stayed low key about is how many people are afraid what this new year is going to bring There is a new leadership, new agendas, and people are scared that they won't be heard. So for those of us over fifty years old let's get back to basics!!! For those who are faith based get back into your relationship with your prayer life For those who want to start their own business start asking those who you admire to mentor you For those are angry because of the situation remember the mind is a powerful tool that no one can take from you . Stop and get back in the saddle again there is a wealth of resources in front of you. We as a people we need to come together and help each other and not divide If I have a wealth of knowledge on a subject and someone was to ask me for advice I would ...
