There Is Sunshine After The Rain

Image
During the pandemic I have heard from so many people going through life's struggles. I wanted to revisit my fifth book  There Is Sunshine After the Rain   that I wrote that is a memoir that covers the darkest moments in my life and the paths that I had to travel to get to my sunshine. This book has poetry sprinkled throughout the chapters because it was my first love. Since I was a child I was writing my feelings that I hadn't even understood the meaning of what was going on. From having the first crush, facing death, and the stages that life had planned that I had to navigate through. A lot of times we get caught up being in our personal storms that we feel like the world has let us down. We don't see the end in sight and unfortunately there are some who decide to take matters into their own hands and commit suicide. Not realizing that there is support no matter if it is friends, family, or support groups.  We forget that there will be sunshine after the rain and we...

Thinking back to the beginning

Image
As I reflect on the beginning of the journey of becoming a author I had to think about all the bumps and bruises along the way.  I tell everyone we all have a story within us and I didn't know at the time my story was from pain, hurt and grief. I needed someone to hold me accountable and keep me on a timetable. I was working full time at the same time  and had finished getting my Masters degree. I was already in the writing groove of writing term papers , thesis so I took my tuition reimbursement money and clicked on the button submit . The rest is hi...

Interview with Author Kimberly B. Jones about her latest book  Excerpt:  “We ordered four large pizzas,” said Melissa. “Seriously, pizza?  No salad? I have to watch my amazing figure.”   I glimpsed out the window, people were still protesting. I had imagined that it would have all been over by now. There was Ricardo and some school friends marching in the streets holding signs. “Chloe stay inside. I’ll be right back.”  “Where are you going?” asked Leah.  “I saw my neighbor, Ricardo. I just want to go talk to him.”  I must talk to him.  “Why?” Leah sighed. “Because the guy killed by the police was his best friend.”  “There you go with that again.” Leah rolled her eyes. Alright, hurry and I will sit with Chloe until you get back.” “Thanks, just make sure Chloe gets some pizza and save me a slice.” I walked into the crowd, bumping into people, and apologizing. I started yelling for Ricardo. I found him but he was fading in the crowd....
