What A Difference A Day Makes
By: Patricia A. Saunders
Years ago I was writing a poem for one of my books and the song came to me "What A Difference A Day
Makes". I was overwhelmed with emotions because on that day I listened to the words fully.
"What a difference a day makes
Twenty-four little hours
Brought the sun and the flowers
Where there used to be rain
Brought the sun and the flowers
Where there used to be rain
My yesterday was blue, dear
Today I'm a part of you, dear
My lonely nights are through, dear
Since you said you were mine"
Today I'm a part of you, dear
My lonely nights are through, dear
Since you said you were mine"
As we prepare to end the first month of 2021 and are going into February. I am wishing for those that
are single and during the pandemic your dating life has been either paused or altered that you find love.
I love interviewing both men and women on what they are looking for in a relationship. Speaking to
all generations, those that have been married, are married and some that never want to be married.
The common thread is everyone says they wanted love from a partner, spouse and or friend that includes
respect and trust.
I look over my life and what I wanted in my early twenties to now in my mature state . The wants and needs
are totally different. Still when I see a couple that have survived all the tests and are celebrating their
60th year wedding anniversary I go I want that type of love. When I see someone in their 70's that
was married, their spouses passed and they reconnect with their high school sweetheart and now get
married again I go there isn't an age limit to when you find love.
I have heard people say they want an Agape love . I went to look up the meaning and here's what I found:
Agape (Ancient Greek ἀγάπη, agapē) is a Greco-Christian term referring to unconditional love, "the highest form of love, charity" and "the love of God for man and of man for God".[1] The word is not to be confused with philia, brotherly love, or philautia, self-love, as it embraces a universal, unconditional love that transcends and persists regardless of circumstance. It goes beyond just the emotions to the extent of seeking the best for others. The noun form first occurs in the Septuagint, but the verb form goes as far back as Homer, translated literally as affection, as in "greet with affection" and "show affection for the dead".[2] Other ancient authors have used forms of the word to denote love of a spouse or family, or affection for a particular activity, in contrast to eros (an affection of a sexual nature).
So we are slowly coming out of the pandemic there are many who can't wait to be outside, dating,
being in the company of someone you find attractive. Someone to hold and kiss and explore. The
excitement of dressing up, putting on the some perfume/cologne, and taking each moment in . Being
in isolation and not being able to hug, hold hands and all the little things we took for granted. Makes
you appreciate the opportunity even more. Your goals are different. What you want may be different
than last year I hope.
What A Difference A Day Makes....
