Starting Over

Image
Starting Over As the year 2016 is coming to a close there is so much to ponder Great Icons have passed David Bowie, Prince, Carrie Fisher to name a few. The first man to walk the moon has accepted his new assignment and is now in heaven The most controversy over an election that I have witnessed in my 1/2 century is not over and more are frighten of what is to come Children are disappearing off the streets leaving their homes to never return You turn on the news and there is a bombing here, a shooting there at a mall, and another life lost We look to our leaders for guidance and what I have heard on television, radio and witnessed it all are unsure Some will tell you to stay focused we have gone through much worse Others will be religious and tell you to trust God I just want to start over! I want to wake up to no wars here in the United States or abroad. You say what wars in the United States? There is a war where there is killing taking place in the United...

Great Is Your Mercy (Live)

I had to sit back and look from where I came. A little girl from Waterbury CT who had to overcome so many obstacles placed in front of her. With writing my books of poetry I have exposed so much of myself, my inner thought process and received the blessing back from my readers. For the little girl who was molested, bullied, and thought about giving up I stand here as a testament that it will get better and you will survive. Faith is the core of who I am and at times I have doubted like most but I am a true believer that I am never alone, God will always provide, and I am so thankful. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's to all. Wishing those who have loss a love one especially during the holidays it is rough I am wishing you peace and comfort. Blessings to all Patricia A. More Than A Tree

Image
More Than A Tree I sit here in the dark Looking at the space that I want to have the tree placed So many emotions are going through me that I have to just exhale I have gone through thousands of pictures Christmas was her favorite holiday I got the confirmation by seeing the glimmer in her eyes I can remember all the foods that she would slave over the stove to cook Everything had to be just right for her family Everyone would travel near and far to be home with her for Christmas As she aged and got fragile I became the strong one Christmas dinners were at my home, trying to replicate all the dishes that everyone ate A artificial tree was erected and gifts were placed underneath Taking pictures and seeing her laugh was priceless Its been ten years since I put a tree up She got sick two weeks before The doctor promised that she would be home in time for Christmas He lied! My sister brought a small tree and decorated it in the hospital for her I...

Thankful

Image
This is the time of year when you see so many writing what they are thankful for The question arose why do we have to pick just one day a year and not be thankful throughout the year? I have seen posts that some are thankful for their families, children, their health etc. I sat in the living room and it was from the mouth of babes as they went around the room . It is what they said  that caught my attention We had gone around the room giving thanks for various things Laughing and smiling at each other for being thankful There was one child in the room who said you didn't ask me ? You think what could a child only six years old be thankful for? He hasn't seen life yet? Gone through any drama? Yet he is here and he wants to be counted too.  He was thankful for his parents, his friends, and and his family. So many times we go through things and it doesn't matter at what age it's your friends and family who are there. You depend on these peop...

30 Days of Inspiration book tour makes a stop at Blessed & Curvy

From the desk of Patricia A. Saunders I want to introduce you to another guest author Bryetta Calloway ... she is about to release her book tomorrow November 17th. A sneak peak with an excerpt from her book: Hope is My Birthright, Not A Feeling. Emotions can become so intense and overwhelming that you will feel pulled undertow by the sheer weight of them. Sadness covers you, fear tracks your every step, frustration pushes against you, stress seems to smother you. You feel surrounded, backed into a corner. Your fight or flight response kicks in like wounded prey. No matter that nothing appears to have changed, or maybe BECAUSE NOTHING seems to have changed. Whatever the impetus, you feel the rhythm of your heart uptick as you paddle against the waves of hopelessness. Desperate to seek an intravenous injection of hope. You turn your head away from the world, and you go chasing after that feeling of relief, assuredness, security. Desperate to find respite from the noise of...
